How We Choose
Furriva Shop exists to help dog and cat owners compare Amazon products without wading through sponsored listicles. Here's exactly how we research, verify and score every product on this site.
1. We start from the product itself
Every product begins as an Amazon link. We pull the listing's identity (title, brand, ASIN) and cross-check price, star rating and review count wherever we can independently confirm them — usually against the same product on a second retailer (most often Chewy) or the manufacturer's own page.
2. Amazon rating vs. our editorial score — two different things
The Amazon rating (stars + review count) is Amazon shoppers' aggregate opinion, shown exactly as we found it, with a verification date. Our editorial score (out of 10, shown on a radar chart) is our own independent assessment across 5-6 category-specific criteria — it is never copied from Amazon's star rating and is always labeled as our own.
3. We never invent data
If we could not verify a price, rating or spec at publish time, the page says so and shows "—" or "Check on Amazon" instead of a guessed number. Several products on this site currently show this because Amazon does not expose live pricing/rating data to automated verification — we'd rather show nothing than show something wrong.
4. Prices and availability change
Every price we do show carries the date we captured it. Amazon prices change constantly — always confirm the current price on the product page before buying.
5. We earn a commission, and that never buys placement
As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases made through our links, at no extra cost to you. No brand or seller pays to be featured, ranked higher, or excluded from a comparison.
